Das GIGABYTE Z790 EAGLE AX Mainboard basiert auf dem Intel®-Z790-Chipsatz und unterstützt Intel®-Prozessoren für den Sockel 1700 der 12. bis 14. Generation. Es bietet DDR5-Speicher mit 4 DIMM-Slots im Dual-Channel-Betrieb und unterstützt bis zu 256 GB Gesamtspeicherkapazität. Zu den Anschlussmöglichkeiten gehören PCIe-5.0-x16, PCIe-4.0-x16 (x4-Lanes) und PCIe-3.0-x16 (x1) sowie zwei weitere PCIe-3.0-x16-Slots. Das Board umfasst 8-Kanal-Sound, eine 2,5-Gb-LAN-Schnittstelle, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 und eine Reihe von USB-Schnittstellen. Darüber hinaus stehen drei M.2-Anschlüsse und vier SATA3-Anschlüsse zur Verfügung.
