Progressive housing construction forces the raccoons from the Tama hills at the gates of Tokyo to leave their homeland. But some wise old raccoons want to try to fight people in the traditional way and use transformation skills that only raccoons, foxes, and some cats master. So is sent after three very old teachers of this art and after diligent training manages to transform into objects through methamorphosis. The raccoons' plan seems to be successful at first: they scare people and lead them around by the nose. But finally people see through the magic of the raccoons and when some animals are killed, the battle takes a tragic turn...
